The Usain Bolt Foundation hosts Christmas Treat in Sherwood Content
26th December 2014 – The Usain Bolt Foundation once again hosted a standout Christmas Treat for his home town community of Sherwood Content and invited neighbouring communities from the Parish of Trelawny to attend.
The event was hosted by the Triple Olympic and World Champion Usain Bolt with the support of his sponsors Digicel, Puma, Hublot and Gatorade. The treat which is becoming an annual event has grown significantly welcoming over 500 members of the community for a day of great family entertainment.
The track legend spent the day entertaining and hosting the members of his hometown and was delighted with the response, “I am definitely happy to be able to do this once again and to have the support of my sponsors. We wanted it to be a day for the kids so they could play and also go home with presents.  We also wanted the parents to enjoy themselves and we achieved that.”
There were smiles and happy faces all around as children enjoyed bounce about, rock climbing and face painting to name a few of the activities. Such an occasion wouldn’t be complete without local cuisine (Curry Goat, Mannish Water, Jerk Chicken etc) provided by the Usain Bolt Foundation and everyone received Christmas presents. There were also music and rides for the children who certainly had a Merry Christmas. According to little Akeem, this was his “best Christmas” and he was happy to be able to meet Usain Bolt.
The Usain Bolt Foundation Chairman , Winsome Wilkins commented that “We are pleased with the support that Usain continues to receive not just from his community but also from the wider Jamaica and we are delighted that we are able to do events like this that promotes good family values”.
The fastest man on earth didn’t stop there. Before the day ended the Usain Bolt Foundation also handed over a brand new bathroom facility to Waldensia Primary School.

We are not Jamaican, but my son loves Usain Bolt. Usain Bolt is an excellent athlete AND most importantly a good person. I am happy my son chose him to admire. My son is 10 years old and a local winner of the 100, 200, 4X100 and 4X400 races in the area where we live. We live in the U.S. but it doesn’t matter. MY SON LOVES Usain Bolt and watches him on video before every race and listens to him talk about running. He is inspired by him and very astute to him. He watches his diet and refuses to eat anything like candy/snacks etc. I really want him to meet him to see for himself and my son would probably pass out! lol
