The Usain Bolt Foundation hosts Christmas Treat in Sherwood Content

26th December 2014 – The Usain Bolt Foundation once again hosted a standout Christmas Treat for his home town community of Sherwood Content and invited neighbouring communities from the Parish of Trelawny to attend.
The event was hosted by the Triple Olympic and World Champion Usain Bolt with the support of his sponsors Digicel, Puma, Hublot and Gatorade. The treat which is becoming an annual event has grown significantly welcoming over 500 members of the community for a day of great family entertainment.
The track legend spent the day entertaining and hosting the members of his hometown and was delighted with the response, “I am definitely happy to be able to do this once again and to have the support of my sponsors. We wanted it to be a day for the kids so they could play and also go home with presents.  We also wanted the parents to enjoy themselves and we achieved that.”
There were smiles and happy faces all around as children enjoyed bounce about, rock climbing and face painting to name a few of the activities. Such an occasion wouldn’t be complete without local cuisine (Curry Goat, Mannish Water, Jerk Chicken etc) provided by the Usain Bolt Foundation and everyone received Christmas presents. There were also music and rides for the children who certainly had a Merry Christmas. According to little Akeem, this was his “best Christmas” and he was happy to be able to meet Usain Bolt.
The Usain Bolt Foundation Chairman , Winsome Wilkins commented that “We are pleased with the support that Usain continues to receive not just from his community but also from the wider Jamaica and we are delighted that we are able to do events like this that promotes good family values”.
The fastest man on earth didn’t stop there. Before the day ended the Usain Bolt Foundation also handed over a brand new bathroom facility to Waldensia Primary School.
