Usain clocks fastest ever relay split of 8.65 secs

2nd May 2015 – The Jamaica – USA 4x100m rivalry continued at the IAAF World Relays in the Bahamas with USA overturning a seven year Jamaican winning streak to come out on top in a fast 37.36 secs.   Usain anchored a Jamaican quartet of Nesta Carter, Kemar Bailey-Cole and Nichael Ashmeade to silver in 37.68 secs.  There was some individual consolation for Usain as his final 100m split was timed at 8.65 secs which is the fastest ever recorded in a relay.  Asafa Powell had previously clocked 8.68 secs at the 2012 Olympic Games in Beijing while Usain’s best time was 8.70 secs at the 2012 Olympic Games in London.
