2nd August 2014 – Olympic & World Champion Usain Bolt added a Commonwealth Games gold medal to his amazing collection with a fantastic last leg in the 4x100m to bring the team home to gold, a world leading time and Commonwealth Games record . The team of Jason Livermore, Kemar Bailey-Cole, Nickel Ashmeade and Usain Bolt clocked a time of 37.58 secs to win from England and Trinidad. In the heats lead off runner Kimmari Roach was a hero as he ran with a pulled muscle to get the baton to his team mates and ensure they qualified for the final.
“It means a lot,” said Bolt. “It was the only thing missing from my collection. I missed a couple of Games because of injuries and different problems, so I am happy to be here. Even though I was cold, the reception has been warm.”
